A client-based project for Halle Berry, it took over 10 years to bring this movie to the screen. A friend of Vincent’s had the option for the story but it was difficult to finance as art house movies were hard to get made at the time. The original financing fell through, but Vincent found another source for the $13M budget. Because of marketing budgets, the film was not widely released nor promoted; however, Halle’s portrayal of a woman with Multiple Personality Disorder earned her the African-American Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, an Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion picture, a Prism Award for Performance in a Feature Film, and a Golden Globe Nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture-Drama.
